time doesn’t age

sometimes life passes us by
no flashing lights or warning signs
we can't stop and press rewind
relive the moments left behind

and the years, they slowly fade
so we all accept the change
except time, time doesn’t age
it just washes youth away

and if all of our mistakes
have made us who we are today
then, i’m proud of those i've made
and i hope you feel the same

some days tears, they fall like rain
and our hearts swell up with pain
and we lose the things we love
because nothing real was meant to stay
